Delaware and Nevada officials are discussing the possibility of allowing gamblers in both states to play poker online with each other, a step toward attracting more players and more revenue to the online gaming initiative.

On Oct. 25, the Nevada Gaming Commission adopted a regulation encouraging Nevada to seek compacts with other states that also allow online gaming. Delaware’s Legislature already has approved creating alliances with other states.  States have done the same with lottery games such as Powerball and Mega Millions.

Aside from Nevada, which offers online poker only, just two other states have approved internet gambling. Delaware this month became the first state to offer a full slate of online gambling such as poker, blackjack, roulette and slots. New Jersey will soon go live with similar games.
